Watch & Win Word of the Day Contest (the Contest) is open to legal residents of

the

fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen

years old at the time of entry. Employees of KECY-TV FOX9 and other

associated with the promotion of the Contest, and their respective parents,
subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies as well as the
immediate
family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each

employee are not eligible. The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local
laws and

2. Sponsor

The Sweepstakes is sponsored by KECY-TV FOX9, located at 1965 S 4th AVE,

3. Agreement to Official Rules

Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes entrants full and unconditional
agreement
to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor,
which are
final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these
Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.

4. Contest Period

The Contest begins on April 26th, 2012 at 8:00AM Arizona and ends on April
May 23rd,
2012 at 5:00PM Arizona (the Contest Period). Entries that are submitted before

after the Contest Period will be disqualified. Submissions will be accepted for the
duration of the Contest using any of the following methods: email.

Watch the news cast on KECY FOX9 News at 9PM or ABC5 NEWS at 10PM
and E-
Mail Word of the Day to (ENTER@KECYTV.COM). OR enter on the form above. Limit one (1) entry
per person, per email address, and per
household for the duration of the
Sweepstakes Period,
regardless of method of entry. Entries received from any
person, e-mail address, or
household in excess of the stated
limitation will be
void. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or
returned.

6. Prize Drawing

Every weeknight from April 26th through May 23rd, 2012, the Sponsor will select
potential winners in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received.
The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor
will attempt to notify the potential winner via telephone or email on or about April
26th through May 23rd, 2012. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within five
(5)
days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the Sponsor may
select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from the remaining
non-winning,
eligible entries.

7. Winner Notification

The potential winners will be notified by email, mail or phone. Each potential
Grand
and First Prize winner (parent/legal guardian if a minor in his/her state of
residence) will
be required to complete, electronically sign and submit a Declaration of
Compliance
within five (5) days of the date notice or attempted notice is sent, in order to
claim

his/her prize. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, or fails to submit the
Declaration of Compliance within the required time period (if applicable), or prize

is

returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize. If the potential winner

is at

least 18 but still considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Sponsor
reserves the right to award the prize in the name of his/her parent or legal
guardian,
who will be required to sign the Declaration of Compliance on the potential
winners
behalf and fulfill any other requirements imposed on winner set forth herein.
Potential
winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official
Rules,
and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. In the event that a

9. General Conditions

In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is
impaired in
any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm,
unauthorized human intervention or other technical problem, or in the event the
Contest

is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by Sponsor in
its sole
discretion, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the
Contest to
address the impairment and then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best
conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules or (b) terminate the Sweepstakes
and, in
the event of termination, award the prize at random from among the eligible,
nonsuspect
entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the
right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with

entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these
Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any
person to damage the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the

may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be

agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claim or cause of action

Can you spot me in the red circle?

Note to self: If I’m lucky enough to be an active audience member at a live TV show again, do not consume a 5-hour energy drink 30 minutes before!

My co-workers can vouch for me on this one. I was like a rabbit on steroids waiting in line at the bottom of the stairs to the entrance of the Ellen set. I was so excited, that even the couple who stood in front of us called us “entertaining”. I think they were in reference to my practice dance moves that included “stacking the shelves” and the famous “sprinkler” move. To get those up to speed unfamiliar with Ellen, it’s the show’s ritual to dance as much as you can throughout the recording!

After waiting in the parking lot with the rest of the fans (some had been waiting in line for hours to get a guaranteed seat), we were escorted across the road like school children into the giant Ellen building in Burbank CA. There we waited in a long corridor for a good half an hour, unable to sit still with all the commotion and wishing we could use our cameras. Then we flocked into the merchandise room where the stairs led to the set, and was baffled by the welcome door mat on sale that quoted “live, laugh, dance”. Why not!?

We were taken to our seats on the second row, and the “warm up guy”, who of course was rather nice to look at, riled up the crowd and told us that Ellen, “feeds off the crowd’s energy”. T shirts were given to those that had the best dance moves. Unfortunately my “roll the dice” moves didn’t make the cut but it was somewhat as relief  as I didn’t fancy joining the other T shirt winners on the stage to make a complete fool of myself.

Then it was time for Ellen. The show is timed with acute precision which was a surprise. I expected them to have to re-shoot scenes and script constantly. But it really was a very well rehearsed, perfectly fluent hour long show. Ellen was all smiles as she came bounding in with ease. It’s surreal when a celebrity is standing right there in front of you. Creepily, I couldn’t help but stare. She’s really pretty with a pair of bright blue eyes that grab your attention. With the many cameras, production crew and equipment it was hard to stay focused on the content of the show. The atmosphere of the whole room was electrifying and it was easy to maintain a grin from ear to ear throughout the whole recording. Especially when LL Cool J and Denzel Washington guest starred.

After all the over embellished laughter, clapping, dancing, cheering, grinning and excitement I think it’s safe to say I was exhausted. When the show was over, my ears rang, my hands were hot and itchy and my cheeks were sore. We picked up our freebies on the way out of the studios that included a set of snazzy headsets and a Grammy Nominee’s CD and we were escorted back across the road.

I had such an amazing day, and I would recommend the experience to anyone, it’s like none other! It was a long drive back to Yuma that night, but I have never been more awake! The next day at work however, was quite the contrary!

KECY-TV FOX 9 Account Executives are responsible for generating revenue from the sale of television airtime to local advertisers within KECY-TV’s coverage area through the development of an active list of customers and prospects.  Responsibilities include; knowledge and preparation of station advertising rates, current programming, Nielsen, market competition, and the organization of this information into oral and written presentation form for the client sell; the timely completion of internal paperwork including weekly sales planners and any other reports requested by the Local Sales Manager; and, attending sales meetings as called by the Local Sales Manager.

Qualifications:

What kind of pose is that Paula?

Was anyone else disappointed that Baseball took over our screens last night and consequently set the X Factor back? Well I turned the box on about ten minutes to 7 and was disappointed to see that the game was still heavily involved. Don’t get me wrong, I do actually enjoy baseball when there is nothing else on, but tonight I was eagerly anticipating the Judge’s homes episode! It got to 7 oclock and the game was in the 10th inning. “Here we go”, I thought, “this is going to be never ending”. My night was over! However, I was rescued! I turned to ABC5 and thought I would give The Middle a chance. I actually really enjoyed it, as I flicked over to channel 9 periodically to see the status of the game. Who is that kid? He’s brilliant. As I continued my night on ABC5, I found the comedy got even better throughout the night. I had officially forgotten about the X Factor I’d been looking forward to all day. When I flicked over to FOX9 about an hour later, a surge of horror ran through me as I realised the  game was over and the X Factor had commenced. Wait a minute. I’ve see this! Phew, relief. It’s a recap of last week’s episode. TONIGHT! Nothing is getting in the way. I’m finally going to see the episode of the X Factor/Cribs I’ve been waiting for! YAY
